Paul has 30yrs experience working in adult mental health in a variety of roles. His background is as a qualified mental health nurse. He is an accredited psychotherapist with both the BABCP and EMDR UK & Ireland. He has a BSc Hons in Health and Social Care (Psychosocial Interventions) and Pg. Dip. In CBT from Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU).
From 2007, he trained and practiced as a psychological practitioner providing dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) in an NHS community rehabilitation service. He facilitated groups and provided individual therapy to help his clients enhance life skills and manage dysregulated emotions. He trained staff and students on multiple sites and was a sessional lecturer/clinical supervisor at CCCU.
From 2010, Paul trained and practiced as a behavioral and cognitive psychotherapist (CBT) while working for an NHS IAPT Service in Kent. While there, he treated the full spectrum of anxiety disorders and depression. He also completed his training in EMDR therapy under Dr Michael Paterson OBE.
Paul's areas of expertise lie in working with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trauma, loss and bereavement, early attachment issues and addiction.
